Well I'm currently in school for nursing, have a 5 year old son and I live in Portsmouth, VA, Its so good to see that everyone is doing good!
Danielle Bright

.I graduated from VCU in May 2007 with a degree in Mass Communications/Broadcast Journalism. I now work on-air/production/promotions for Clear Channel Radio (6 different stations) in Richmond. Basically, I get up at 4:15 every morning and talk for a living. I couldn't be happier!
Becca Mitchell

I graduated from Old Dominion University in May 2007 with a Bachelor's Degree in history/secondary education. I am currently teaching Government/Sociology at Great Bridge High school! Life is good and I hope things are going well for all.
Kirby Hare

I was married in September 2007 to long time girlfriend Jennifer, which I met while attending Virginia Tech. I am still working for Accenture where I've been given the opportunity to help solve clients difficult business and supply chain problems and help them implement SAP - a leading enterprise software solution. I manage a team of approximately 20 offshore developers which has been a great experience. Sometimes the hours are kind of rough but I've been able to travel all over the United States which has been a blast. Jennifer and I live in Richmond where we recently purchased a home.
Nathan JonesI am happy to announce I graduated from Old Dominion University December 15, 2007 and received a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration with a double major in Accounting and Decision Sciences. Happy New Year everyone!! Candace (Dodge) NeveuxI am proud to announce that David and I were married in Central Massachusetts on July 7, 2007. We had a wonderful day and are thilled to begin our life together. We are living and working in Virginia Beach; both for White Electric. Hope everyone else is doing well!

I AM HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE THAT JOE IS FINALLY HOME FROM A 1 YEAR DEPLOYMENT IN AFGHANISTAN. WE ARE BUSY BEING A FAMILY NOW, HE GOT TO MEET HIS SON FOR THE FIRST TIME. KAI WAS BORN MARCH 20, 2007. 7 LB. 14 OZ. AND 20 1/2 INCHES LONG. WE ARE STILL STATIONED OVER IN GERMANY AT THE PRESENT MOMENT AND WILL PROBABLY BE HERE FOR ANOTHER YEAR OR SO.

I am proud to announce that my husband, Ferris "Tony" Hayward c/o 01 and I have purchased our new home in Dallas, Ga. I have been teaching at a day school while still attending Univ. of West Georgia, Tony is still co-running a demolition company in Atlanta. We also have plans to start a family next year!!

I recently graduated from Pensacola Christian College with a BA in Music Ministries. I have also recently got engaged to my girlfriend of two and a half years Pam Crowe of Afton, MI. In August, I will be going back to Pensacola, FL to begin work on a Master's degree in Church Music from Pensacola Theological Seminary.

On January 13th, 2007, I married the love of my life James Dunne, Culinary Specialist 2nd in the Navy. We met in Rhode Island and will be moving back to Virginia in May. I am graduating from the University of Rhode Island in May also with a degree in Business Administration.

On August 14, 2006, my husband and I welcomed our first son Hunter William Bennett into the world at 7lbs 7oz and 19.5 inches long. He is now almost 6months old and growing like a weed. I am still working as a Kindergarten teacher in Chesapeake and living in Norfolk.

Laurie Luoto Bennett

Currently, I live in Chesapeake with my husband Brandon Harris (who was also class of 2002). We have been married for 3 Years on March 25th 2007 We now have two children Kaiya Armani, who is 4 and Saniya Gloria Harris, who is 2 months . He attends ITT Tech studying CAD design. I went to school for medical assisting, but am now back in school working on a associate's in liberal arts, so that I can become a high school counselor. I pray that everybody is okay and will drop me a line. God Bless,

I'm attending Norfolk State University and I'm a senior majoring in psychology. I'm a member of the Psychology Club and I'm interning at the library in the Assistive Technology Lab. I'm going to Florida A&M University for graduate school to get my masters. Hope everybody does well with their endeavors.

I just thought I would drop a line to the best class of Deep Creek High; the class of 2002. Seriously though, I am glad to see people of our class doing well and I think of you guys often. I am a 2006 graduate of East Carolina University with a B.S in Criminal Justice. I finally proposed to the love of my life, Ms. Jessica Barnes class of "04" on October 14,2006. I look forward to spending the rest of my life with her. While I just thought I would represent the Hyman boys on the alumni site. I am currently going the police academy with the city of Norfolk, please don't make me pull you guys over, lol. Anyway, to all the teachers and coaches that helped me grow as a person, THANK YOU!!

I have just recently graduated from Longwood University on May 13, 2006 with a B.A. in English. I am working on my Master's degree in Communication Science and Disorders- Speech Pathology. I also got engaged on May 13th to the love of my life, Lee Hobbs, my boyfriend of 6 years! I am still working at Eckerd as a Certified Pharmacy Technician to help pay for grad school. I AM WORKING AS AN ENROLLMENT SPECIALIST FOR WELLCARE, WHICH DOES INSURANCE FOR MEDICAID/MEDICARE. AND MY HUSBAND IS STILL IN THE NAVY (6 YEARS SO FAR). EVERYTHING IS GOING WELL! I married Joseph Johnson on December 3, 2005 and we are currently residing in Germany. Joseph joined the army in June of 2005. He is currently deployed in Afghanistan for a year. We are enjoying life and hope to have children in the next couple of years.

My fiancé, Tony Hayward (class of 01), and I have recently relocated to Mableton, Ga. where we are both starting our new careers. We haven't settled on a wedding date but it will be late 2006 or early 2007. We hope to start a family soon afterwards.

I will be expecting a baby in early August. I also have a six year old daughter and a two year old son. I will be graduating in the fall of 2007. Hope everyone is doing well in their academic/career endeavors.

Candace Dodge and Rodney Neveux were married on December 17, 2005. Rodney is currently in the Navy and Candace is graduating ODU May 2007.

I married Matt Williams (class of 2000) on May 21, 2005. We now live in Georgia and are both working on our Bachelors Degrees. I'm at Armstrong Atlantic State University seeking a BS in Chemistry with American Chemical Society certification and a certificate in Forensic Chemistry. Matt is at Savannah College of Art and Design seeking a BFA in animation. We're both doing well.

I am working at checkered Flag BMW. I'm in a new relationship for 4 months now with Josh Mcaffee (Class of 2004), he was my best friend first for 2 years!
Heather Davis

I am graduating from the University of Virginia in December 2005 with a BA in History. I have gotten very involved with the Arthritis Foundation and plan to work with them at the chapter level upon graduation. Over the past two years volunteering with the Arthritis Foundation, I have helped the Virginia chapter raise over $200,000 dollars through three walks and a breakfast event.

I am an International Studies major and Latin American Studies minor at ODU. I will be going to school in Brazil starting in June at the Pontificia Universidade Catolica de Sao Paulo.

I am proud to announce the marriage of Megan Garner and Tony L. Cooper, Jr. (c/o 2001) on May 22, 2005. They now have a home in Deep Creek and a baby Chihuahua named Mia. Tony is a propeller tech/welder for Wartsila Lips, Inc. and Megan is employed by the Law Offices of Peter Nicholl. Congratulations to the both of them.

Congratulations to Stacey White who got married to Edgar Ayala (Fairfax) on June 11, 2005. They now reside in the Deep Creek area.

I am proud to announce my engagement to Gennaro (Jerry) Nortesano Great Bridge C/O 2001, we have been together for the past 3 years and we are very happy, a wedding will be planned soon. I am currently taking a break from TCC and am hoping to return in fall. Hope every one is doing well.

I am currently taking a break from college for the time being to travel to Europe in the fall and and visiting my friends in Florida. I decided to change my career to teaching instead of nursing. I am currently dating a wonderful guy named Robert who I love and am very happy with. Hope everyone is doing well! See you at the reunion!!!

I am now an Operations Specialist 2nd Class Petty Officer/E-5, still stationed in Portsmouth, NH. Mostly working with Intelligence and Information Security. I miss VA a lot, the winters in New England are pretty harsh.

What's up. I'm in the Army and am currently stationed at Fort Eustis, VA. I'm working on my mechanical engineering degree, between deployments.

I am working at the naval hospital in Portsmouth and I'm about to go to Iraq for about 6 months or more to work with the marines. I’m also taking online class on homeland security and still have about a year to go before I get my degree.

Keith Lovely is currently a sophomore with a double major in Film and 3d Animation @ Savannah College of Art and Design.

I am a DNIMAS (Dozoretz National Institute for Mathematics and Applied Sciences) scholar. I am a resident on campus and I am majoring in Computer Science emphasis in Engineering. I will be a STARS (Science and Technology Academicians on the Road to Success) tutor next semester. I was in the STARS research program during the past summer of 2003.
Opal White

Brandi McCoy is starting back to school this summer and will be going to become a RN. She is currently living in Great Bridge with her husband (Troy Aubuchon, class of 2001). They will be celebrating our one year wedding anniversary this summer and she hopes all of her other classmates are doing well. God bless.

Jessica Spence moved from New York to Newport, Rhode Island. She is attending the University of Rhode Island and working at a boutique in Newport.

Congratulations to Sandi Dykes who got married to Chuck Reed on April 10, 2004.

Don't expect to see Anthony Kelley at any class reunions in your lifetime He is serving a double-life plus 128 years behind bars.

Stacey White is engaged to be married to Edgar Ayala who is from Fairfax, VA. A wedding is being planned for June 11, 2005.

Joshua Davis is at Florida State University majoring in parties with a minor in Business. His little sister Nicole is doing well in Miami, although she still misses Deep Creek. He joined Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and won fraternity of the year this past year.

Congratulations to Ryan Fox on his upcoming marriage to Cortney Lemke.

Melissa McIntire is succeeding at Brigham Young University and is working towards a major in Physics and Astronomy.

Corey McCormick is attending West Virginia University as a Music Education major. He is studying steel drums and West African drumming and dance, and hopes to one day have a group of his own that performs those styles.

Charles Lamont Rush
PORTSMOUTH --Charles Lamont Rush, 24, of the 200 block of Chowan Drive, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007. He is deeply loved by his family and affectionately called "Deep C" by his friends. He was born Nov. 9, 1982, in Portsmouth. He was named after both of his grandfathers (Charles Rush and Charles Franklin). Mr. Rush was a former member of the United Full Gospel Revival Center in Chesapeake. He recently rededicated his life back to the Lord. He graduated from Deep Creek High School and attended Aviation Institute of Maintenance in Virginia where he received his Bachelor’s in Aviation Science. He was also a U.S. Air Force Disabled Gulf War veteran. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Charles Rush and a stepgrandfather, Lawrence Litton. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Meta D. Rush-Brown; his stepdad, Kenneth W. Brown Sr.; his father, Guy Franklin; sisters, Raena D. Rush of Portsmouth and Michele-la Hamlin of Norfolk; brothers, Darius D. Rush and Lloyd J. Harris; two grandmothers, Jessie Mae Rush and Ruby Mincey (Danny); grandfather, Charles Franklin; nieces and nephews, Reshaun, Bre’Aunna, Ty’Aunna, Chashaun and Sejaida; a beloved fiancé, Shauntrell Saunders; and many, many aunts, cousins, and friends. Viewing will be held Tuesday from noon until 8 p.m. at J.T. Fisher Funeral Services, 1080 N. George Washington Hwy., Chesapeake. A life celebration service will be held Wednesday at noon at Solid Rock Baptist Church, 1340 Gust Lane, Chesapeake. He will be laid to rest in Olive Branch Cemetery in Portsmouth. Winford Gospel "Jay" Felton III
HOUSTON, TX - Winford Gospel "Jay" Felton III, 24, of the 300 block of Airtex Drive, passed away Aug. 23, 2007. He joined Christian Home Baptist Church where he was baptized before leaving Chesapeake. He attended Deep Creek High School before entering the Potomac Job Corps Center in Washington, D.C., where he earned his high school diploma and plumber apprentice in 2003. Jay then returned to Chesapeake and worked as a plumber for W.H. McCutcheon Plumbing & Contracting Inc. in Virginia Beach. Staying true to his ambition to live his life to the fullest, Jay moved to Houston in 2005. There he attended Universal Technical Institute and studied collision repair and refinishing technology. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Ruby Felton; his father, Winford G. Felton II; two sisters, Tifany Lewis (Brian) and Teena Felton; his fiancee, Kristen Whitley; two grandmothers, Annie Whaff and Edith Meade; a grandfather, Winford G. Felton Sr.; two aunts, Bridget Lister (Timmy) and Gloria Sivels (Marquis); two uncles, Louis Gallop (Arlethia) and Melvin Gallop (Irish); and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held Thursday at noon in Christian Home Baptist Church, 326 Tull Creek Road, Moyock, N.C. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
