Welcome Class Of 1969

Glenn & Marilyn Brown, who were married in 1973, are still employed by Chesapeake Public Schools. They have two daughters. Allison Brown Taylor (c/o94) is a teacher at Deep Creek Middle School and Mariel Brown Johnson (c/o97) has a photography business called Images by Mariel.

I am living in San Diego, CA, where I have spent most of my adult life, and where I graduated from college...San Diego State University. My son, David, also lives here, and is engaged to be married this summer to a fine young lady. We are both active members at Lighthouse Baptist Church here. I am enjoying the photos of other classes' reunions, and look forward to the next one our class has--am hoping to be there!

It is much sadness to announce that Robert "Bobby" McKeel Jr. passed away May 7, 2007. Obituary below and in the In Memoriam section.

I was married March 28th 1970 to the man of my dream Carl Adkins who attended Deep Creek before his family moved to West Virginia. We live in the city of Portsmouth and we have two adult sons Carl II who was born Feb. 11 1973 and Kenneth April 13th 1978. At this point we have no daughter in laws or grandchildren. My husband is a retired Portsmouth Firefighter who retired after 27 years of service. I am a part time Secretary at Geneva Park Church of Christ in Chesapeake, where I have worked for the last 22 or 23 years. I make jewelry as a hobby and also do Egg Art (such as Faberge eggs) But we use real egg shells and not Gold Silver or Pewter. I would love to hear from anyone from our class of 1969.
Sandra Marnell Adkins

I graduated from ODU with a bachelors degree in engineering. Then in November 1974 I married and stayed that way for 24 years and 364 days to Peggy Cruz, Western Branch class of 70. I have two girls Andrea (Information Technology degree from ODU) and works for the Department of Defense.. Ashleigh age 18, who lives with her mom at the beach and is headed to VCU in the Fall. I have traveled throughout the world for the United States Navy as a Tech Rep. I have been places, done and seen things that one would have only dreamed about.. That is one of the reasons I have never made it to a reunion, always on an airplane going somewhere. I hope to make it to the next one. ( where have I heard that before?) Travel is all but over for me. LOL. Anyway I still live in Beautiful Downtown Bowers Hill (actually Sunray) with my two cats Rudy my bud and Patique the garage cat. My main hobby is still Amateur Radio (KC4RIC). As my class prophesy stated "he now owns...in Downtown Bowers Hill" not quite but almost. Drop me a line. I'm still looking for Debbie Randolph to drop me a line. Debbie you out there?
RICKY "POLOCK" SMITH

I graduated from ODU in 1990 with a Bachelor's Degree in middle education and began teaching English at DC Junior High in 1991. I remained at DC when it became DC Middle School. I remained at DCM until 2003 when I became the Instructional Skills Specialist in the Personnel Department. I graduated with my Educational Specialist Degree in Administrative Leadership in 2005. I still live in the DC area, actually the same house as when I was in school. I would look forward to hearing from any 69 graduate. GO HORNETS!

I am no longer attending Chicago State due to health-related concerns, BUT I am continuing in the pursuit of my bachelor's degree in business management online. GO HORNETS!!!!!
