William Mayo has been married to his wife for 14 years. They have one son his ex-wife, two stepdaughter and one son. six grandchildren. After leaving Deep Creek he went in to the Navy Seabees for 10 years. He is retired from Federal but serves in the National Guard.

James E. Pearce III
Chesapeake-- James Edward "Jimmy" Pearce III, 62, of the 2700 block of Fenway Ave., passed away Oct. 4, 2007, in Edenton, N.C. Born in Portsmouth to the late Louise and James E. Pearce Jr., Jimmy was retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a ship fitter and was also a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church and an avid bowler. He is survived by two sisters, Kay Pearce of Chesapeake and Leola Smith and husband Melvin of Suffolk; a bother, Gregory "Bubba" Pearce and wife Hazel of Powhatan; three nieces, Arlene Smith, Lisa Tarkington and husband Steve and Cheryl Bland and husband Keith; a nephew, Kevin Pearce and wife Monica; and several great-nieces and -nephews. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel, with the Rev. Larry Ryalls and the Rev. Frankie Carroll officiating. The family will receive friends today from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home and the residence of Leola Smith, 507 Kilby Shores Drive, Suffolk, VA 23434 at all other times. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Deep Creek Baptist Church, Lottie Moon Christmas offering. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.snellingsfuneralhome.com.
